Historical Background

Masrouji Company was established in Jerusalem in 1959 as a drug store importing and distributing pharmaceuticals. In the year 1967 after the Israeli occupation, the company was not allowed to continue its direct importation activity. In 1969 we established Jerusalem Pharmaceuticals, which is now manufacturing most lines of generics. It is now a public shareholding company with separate management.

After signing the peace agreement between the Israeli government and the PLO in 1993, we started to discuss the issue of direct importation with our major suppliers. In the beginning of 1995 we started to deal with several well known companies as sole and direct agents. Having achieved this, we are the first company in Palestine to have started direct importation.

Company Structure

Over the years we have diversified our business activities into two business departments:

Pharmacies & Hospitals

FMCG

Each department is managed separately with a marketing manager and a sales manager. Masrouji company has one of the best distribution networks in Palestine. We have a well organized sales force covering the market place on a regular basis. Delivery is done on an average of 24 hours after the sales orders are taken. We are one of the few companies which have distribution networks that cover the entire area of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This well organized distribution network ensures high quality services delivered to our customers and therefore achieves a high level of customers satisfaction.

In June 1997, Masrouji Company was the first company in Palestine and the first pharmaceutical distribution and marketing company in the Middle East to be awarded ISO-9002 certificate, accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Services "UKAS". Throughout its dramatic growth, the founding principles have continued to serve the Company. The company believes that it will not be possible to achieve any of its objectives without the efforts of its employees, each of whom the company encouraged to uphold high standards of honesty, integrity and devotion to work. Company Headquarters

Masrouji company is situated in Al-Bireh - Ramallah, in the center of the country, on the main road to Jerusalem. The company building consists of seven floors; two of them are used for storage and five are used as office space. The building is designed and finished with very high standards and specifications. Total building area is about 4500 square meters. The company also has a branch in Gaza in order to be able to cover the market in Gaza Strip.
