Exact Software Middle East,
a leading manufacturer of enterprise resource planning (ERP)
software solutions, today announced that the Palestinian-based
Masrouji Group, one of the major business enterprises in the region,
has signed a deal to deploy Exact technology as part of an upgrade
of its IT facilities which will include providing real-time
information direct to staff PDAs.
The Masrouji Group, which imports, distributes and manufactures
pharmaceuticals, and has over 350 employees located at sites in
Palestine and Jordan, wanted to streamline its business activities
across its different operations, in preparation for future expected
growth. Exact Software's Global Enterprise 2003, has been integrated
at the company's headquarters in Palestine, and then rolled out
across its business.
Local pharmaceutical companies based within the Middle East have
shown significant expansion in recent years, successfully competing
against global drug manufacturers. The Masrouji Group's decision to
upgrade will mean its sales and warehousing staff will have
real-time information on stock and shipment records, delivered
straight to their PDAs.
"We are embarking on a period of expansion and we wanted a solution
that would increase our capacity, save employees time and reduce
costs" said Haytham Masrouji, general manager, Masrouji Co. "We
previously had basic ERP applications running at our different
locations, and felt it was necessary to implement a unified system
so we can effectively manage our workflow throughout the operation."
Exact Software was selected because it offered more comprehensive
ERP applications, was fully Arabized, and more cost effective than
competitors products. The company intends to make use of the
accounting, financial, customer relationship, management and human
resource management components of the solution.
"Due to the fast changing nature of our business, we need real-time
reports that could be delivered in a user friendly format, direct to
a handheld device" said Masrouji.
Exact Software's technical specialists will deploy the solution at
the Masrouji Group's multiple locations in Palestine and Jordan, and
will be on hand to provide post implementation support.
"The Masrouji Group is a perfect example of how our solution can
benefit multi-site organizations" said Nizar Badwan, general
manager, Exact Software Middle East. "In order to facilitate further
growth, they have streamlined their workflow and documented
management functions, and implemented CRM, HR and accounting
applications that will give real-time updates on their business
activities."
"And because the same solution will be rolled out across the
organization, employees will have access to a single information
database" he added.
Exact Software's Global Enterprise 2003 is based on the One-X
solution, meaning businesses can manage their entire business system
from a single, integrated database, which allows information to be
shared between head office and regional sites.
